Despite the overwhelming investment in executive development, Mintzberg argues that frontline managers – those closest to employees and customers – are the true force multipliers in any organization. He highlights that a well-trained first-line leader can dramatically improve employee engagement, productivity, and organizational performance.
Fri, 21 Mar 2025 19:00:22 +0000 admin 615793 at /bensadoun-school Proposed tax cuts will benefit working people, but also high income earners /bensadoun-school/channels/news/proposed-tax-cuts-will-benefit-working-people-also-high-income-earners-364651
The federal election campaign is well underway, and the leaders of the Liberal and Conservative parties are both proposing tax cuts for the lowest income tax bracket. Income up to $57,375 is currently taxed at a rate of 15%, and Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre has proposed a 2.25% reduction to this rate. For his part, Liberal leader Mark Carney is proposing a 1% reduction. In either case, the tax savings do not just benefit the lowest income earners. Anyone who earns more the personal deduction amount -- $15,705 in 2024-- would save money on their taxes.
Tue, 01 Apr 2025 17:43:46 +0000 admin 615780 at /bensadoun-school Patrick Augustin sets the record straight about Luxembourg /bensadoun-school/channels/news/patrick-augustin-sets-record-straight-about-luxembourg-365404
Luxembourg is best known as a wealthy tax haven--if people know it at all. But Professor of Finance Patrick Augustin begs to differ. “Of course, it is not comparable to major metropolitan cities like London or New York, but for its size, I think the country punches above its weight in terms of cultural and social activities,” says Augustin, a Luxembourger.
Thu, 15 May 2025 18:40:29 +0000 admin 615751 at /bensadoun-school Tariff loophole fuelling Canadian warehouse sector /bensadoun-school/channels/news/tariff-loophole-fuelling-canadian-warehouse-sector-365878
Tariffs drive up prices for businesses, but some companies are finding a creative loophole to avoid some US tariffs. When a company imports a tariffed good, it pays a tariff. But it doesn’t pay a tariff if the goods are only passing through on the way to a final destination. This creates an incentive for US companies to store inventory in Canada. They can park products here until they sell them, and only pay tariffs on goods that are actually bound for the US market.
Thu, 26 Jun 2025 18:38:07 +0000 admin 615731 at /bensadoun-school C.
