DESCRIPTION:Based on an exploratory review of quantitative and qualitative 
 medical literature\, Baptiste Motte's research team has devised a model fo
 r understanding medical uncertainty on which to base a coherent pedagogica
 l approach that can help prepare students for the richness and complexity 
 of uncertainty in healthcare. They defend that a pragmatist approach to me
 dical pedagogy enables them to address uncertainty in all its richness and
  complexity and the multiple causes and issues described in our model. The
  learner mobilizes and enriches their epistemologies based on real-life ca
 re situations in interaction with the patient and the environment in which
  the care situation occurs. This pedagogical dynamic offers a new approach
  not only to training but also to medicine. To evaluate the implementation
  of their hypothesis\, their project will focus on providing a French-lang
 uage quantitative tool for assessing tolerance to uncertainty.\n\nThis sem

 research seminar is held at the Department of Family Medicine where we eit
 her feature visiting researchers from other universities\, or showcase the
  work of our own researchers. The seminars are attended by our graduate st
 udents\, researchers and clinicians\, and are open to the whole Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ com
 munity. They address a wide range of research methods and topics relevant 
 to primary health care\, and provide opportunity for interaction and excha
 nge with the speakers. The Research Seminars are Fridays at around noon.\n
