Program Description

The 15-credit Graduate Certificate in Business Management offered by the School of Continuing Studies introduces the competencies necessary to succeed in a management position. It is designed to strengthen learners’ communication, problem-solving, critical thinking, and teamwork skills, while exploring shifting trends, new technologies, and essential techniques relevant to general and business management field. This program also prepares learners for further studies in the business management field. Those who complete both the Graduate Certificate in Business Management and the Graduate Certificate in Advanced Business Management fulfill the Canadian Institute of Management’s academic requirements for obtaining the Chartered Manager (C.Mgr.) designation.

  • The new Graduate Certificate in Business Management focuses on fundamental subjects such as accounting, business economics, and marketing, and reflects the latest trends and new business models. Also, in response to the industry's current demand for agile project management, a brand new course has been proposed to complement the program. The agile approach aims to enhance project delivery, reduce risk, and improve quality when dealing with undefined projects and ever-changing requirements.

    Moreover, the program offers participants the flexibility to select additional complementary courses, including traditional project management, organizational behaviour, communication and presentation skills, and business law. By doing so, learners can tailor their studies to suit their specific interests and career goals.

University-Level Admission Requirements

  • An eligible Bachelor's degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA out of a possible 4.0 GPA
  • English-language proficiency
