Due to strict licensing agreements with publishers, off-campus access to most electronic library resources such as databases, full text electronic journals and textbooks, as well as other online services are restricted to the following members of the Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ community:

  • Faculty with a Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ ID number
  • Students with a Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ ID number
  • Staff with a Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ ID number
  • Residents with a Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ ID number

NB Any individual who is on campus (downtown or Macdonald) will be able to access most library e-resources without having to authenticate, either by connecting to the Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ wired or wireless network, or by using computer workstations located in the library.

If you work in one of Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ’s affiliated hospitals and do not have access to Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ Libraries' eResources, there are still several ways to access the information you need.

  1. Use Hospital-Licensed eResources

You may have access to eResources that are licensed specifically for use by your hospital or department. Check with your hospital library or information services for details.

  •
  1. Request Materials via Interlibrary Loan

You can request Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ Libraries materials through your hospital’s interlibrary loan (ILL) service. This allows you to borrow books, articles, and other resources from Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ’s collections.

  2. On-Campus Access at Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ

When visiting Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ’s downtown or Macdonald campuses, you can access Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ Libraries e-resources by:

  • Connecting to the Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ wireless network using a personal device, or
  • Using one of the public computer workstations available at any Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ Libraries location. To learn more about the resources available to you, please contact your hospital library.

Please contact the Office of the Vice-President of Research and Innovation (VPRI) with any questions about access.
