 k\n\nAbstract  \n\nThere is a growing evidence base that illuminates how c
 orruption harms the health and welfare of patients\, particularly those th
 at are most vulnerable and marginalized. Health systems are particularly v
 ulnerable to corruption given they are technically complex\, there is ofte
 n asymmetric information between its stakeholders (such as patients and pr
 oviders) and anti-corruption\, transparency and accountability (ACTA) mech
 anisms within may be weak or non-existent. During the COVID-19 pandemic\, 
 we have seen how the risk of corruption in health systems globally has bee
 n amplified. This seminar will discuss how we need to prioritize addressin
 g corruption risks in health systems in order to promote equity and advanc
 e public health goals. \n\n \n\nSpeaker Bio\n\nJillian Clare Kohler is a P
 rofessor at the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy\, the Dalla Lana School of 
 Public Health and the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy at t
 he University of Toronto. She is also the Founding Director of the WHO Col
 laborating Centre for Governance\, Transparency and Accountability in the 
 Pharmaceutical Sector. Her research focuses on issues that are related to 
 anti-corruption\, transparency and accountability in the health system\, a
 s well as those related to trade issues and intellectual property rights a
 nd access to medicines globally. Dr. Kohler has provided policy advice on 
 how to identify and address corruption risks in the health systems to inte
 rnational organizations such as the UNDP\, the World Bank\, the WHO and th
 e UNODC. She has a PhD in Politics from New York University. \n\nCorruptio

 erche montre de plus en plus clairement comment la corruption nuit à la sa
 nté et au bien-être des patients\, surtout les plus vulnérables et les plu
 s marginalisés. Les systèmes de santé sont particulièrement vulnérables à 
 la corruption compte tenu de leur complexité\, de l’asymétrie de l’informa
 tion accessible aux différents acteurs (comme les patients et les professi
 onnels)\, et de l’inexistence ou de l’insuffisance des mécanismes internes
  de transparence\, de responsabilité et de lutte contre la corruption. Pen
 dant la pandémie de COVID-19\, nous avons vu le risque de corruption s’amp
 lifier dans les systèmes de santé à l’échelle mondiale. Dans ce séminaire\
 , nous verrons l’importance de diminuer les risques de corruption dans les
  systèmes de santé afin de promouvoir l’équité et de faire progresser les 
 objectifs de santé publique.\n\n \n\nBiographie\n\nJillian Clare Kohler es
 t professeure à la Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy\, à la Dalla Lana School
  of Public Health et à la Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy 
 de l’Université de Toronto. Elle est également directrice fondatrice du Ce
 ntre collaborateur de l’OMS pour la gouvernance\, la transparence et la re
 sponsabilisation dans le secteur pharmaceutique. Ses recherches portent su
 r les questions de transparence\, de responsabilité et de lutte contre la 
 corruption dans le système de santé\, ainsi que les enjeux liés au commerc
 e\, aux droits de propriété intellectuelle et à l’accès aux médicaments da
 ns le monde. Elle a fourni des conseils stratégiques pour la détection et 
 la diminution des risques de corruption dans les systèmes de santé à des o
