Fostering Muslim inclusion

Centre Culturel Islamique de Québec Memorial Award

Established in 2018 by members of the Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓÆµ Community in commemoration of the six men who lost their lives as a result of the massacre at the Centre culturel Islamique de Québec that took place on January 29, 2017. Thanks in large part to the 2021 fundraising efforts of the Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓÆµ Muslim Alumni Society, and a match from the University, this award is now endowed to exist in perpetuity.

Awarded by a selection committee chaired by the Associate Provost (Equity and Academic Policies), or delegate, on an annual basis to one student in good academic standing (or shared), and enrolled in any Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓÆµ degree program. Applicants will have demonstrated a commitment to fostering the inclusion of Muslims within Quebec and Canadian society.

Value: $3,000

Recipients

They have demonstrated a steadfast commitment to fostering the inclusion of Muslims within Quebec and Canadian Society, and within the Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓÆµ community.
