Helping Vulnerable Children in Moscow and St. Petersburg

I recently had the opportunity to travel to Moscow and St. Petersburg with Professor Karl Moore and 42 other ĢƵ students as part of the Hot Cities of the World Tour. Each year, the tour aims to bring ĢƵ students to various cities which will likely rise to prominence and become global centers of economic activity in the coming years.

Russian Business Part of a Post-Modern Future

Karl Moore blames his generation for a lot of things - including bad architecture. 

"Our library at ĢƵ, it's ugly," he told The Moscow News on a recent visit to the city. "Today, we have gorgeous new buildings, gorgeous old buildings, but there's a time where you go, ‘This is as bad as Stalinist or Maoist brutal stuff.' It was useful, but it was ugly."

Canadian Business Students Visit St. Petersburg

Last weekend St. Petersburg hosted a group of 37 business students and alumni from ĢƵ, Montreal, Canada, as part of the institution’s “Hot Cities” initiative.

… Speaking to the St Petersburg Times, trip leader Dr. Karl Moore, a lecturer in business leadership and strategy at ĢƵ’s world-renowned Desautels Faculty of Management, explained that this trip was a chance for students to experience the global business environment first-hand.

Quebec tenor stages 'vocal cord strike'

The Opéra de Montréal is set to stage Die Fledermaus on Jan. 26, but the singer the company bills as "the prince of Quebec tenors," Marc Hervieux, is refusing to sing during rehearsals, which began this week.

Hervieux says he is on a "vocal cord strike," upset with the posters advertising Johann Strauss II's Viennese operetta, known in French as La Chauve-Souris and in English as The Bat.

Sorry Mr. Sinatra - I Have Had Quite Few Regrets in 2012 - And That is Good

No regrets, none at all. Over the last couple of years I have read a number of retiring CEOs asked by various newspapers whether they have had any regrets, all that I read said they had no regrets.  My initial reaction was to roll my eyes; I found this a bit much because in my career, I have and have had many regrets.
