Biography: 

Dr. Assouline is a clinical researcher and hematologist at the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal, where she is the division head of Hematology and the associate director of the Clinical Research Unit. Dr. Assouline is an associate professor in the Department of Medicine, Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓÆµ. She co-founded the Medical Oncology Clinical Research Fellowship, where she supervises post-graduate fellows interested in early phase clinical trial in hematological malignancies. She is co-chair of the Hematology Group at the CCTG (Canadian Cancer Clinical Trials Group), which designs and conducts clinical trials for Canadian patients with hematological malignancies. She is also director of the CML (Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia) clinic at the Jewish General Hospital, the first of its kind in Quebec.

Dr. Assouline’s research interests focus primarily on early phase clinical trials of novel therapies for the treament of acute leukemia and lymphoma. She is involved in the clinical development of numerous therapies which have improved the outcome of patients living with these diseases. She is also interested in translational and outcomes research pertaining to lympoma and leukemia and the novel therapies on which she conducts clinical trials. Dr. Assouline holds an FRSQ Chercheur Clinicien de Merite award, which supports her many research endeavours.
