Eligibility and Required Documents

You are eligible for a co-op work permit if:

  1. You have a co-op support letterÌýfrom your department confirming that all students in your program must complete a work placement in order to get their degree.

  2. You have a valid study permitÌý(or you are including a co-op work permit request within your study permit application and the study permit application getsÌýapproved).

  3. You are required to work in order to complete your program.

  4. The work (i.e., internship, co-op placement, practicum, stage, etc.)Ìýconstitutes 50% orÌýless of your program.Ìý


Required Documents:

  1. A valid study permitÌý(orÌýyou are including a co-op work permit request within your study permit application and the study permit application gets approved)
  2. A scanned copyÌýofÌýyour passport including ALL stamped/marked pages.
  3. A co-op support letterÌýfrom your department confirming that all students in your program must complete a work placement in order to get their degree.
  4. An immigration medical exam receipt only ifÌýyour mandatory work placement is .

The Co-Op Support Letter:

When you apply for your co-op work permit, you must include aÌýco-op support letter - i.e., aÌýletter from your department confirming that all students in your program must complete a work placement in order to get their degree.
