Crystal Garnett is deeply committed to advancing interprofessional collaboration as a cornerstone of high-quality, patient-centered care and improved health outcomes. She believes in cultivating interprofessional competencies from the outset, ensuring students are prepared to apply these skills effectively in real-world clinical settings.

She has been actively engaged in the IPE curriculum for several years, serving as a facilitator in interprofessional education courses designed to foster reflective and collaborative competencies among health professions students.

Crystal teaches across both undergraduate and graduate levels, including interprofessional courses and a range of Physical Therapy program courses. Her teaching spans professional and collaborative practice, communication and reflective skills, patient education and health promotion, clinical and rehabilitation skills, and leadership and clinical education. From 2012 to 2024, she coordinated clinical education for the Physical Therapy program, bridging academic and clinical learning environments. She is also an evaluator for Physiotherapy Education Accreditation Canada (PEAC), supporting national standards in physiotherapy education.

In recognition of her innovative contributions to interprofessional education, Crystal was co-recipient of the 2022 Faculty Award for Teaching Innovation, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, for her work in developing a curriculum-integrated, community-engaged IPE initiative with the Hospital Elder Life Program (H.E.L.P., Jewish General Hospital, Montreal) and first-year occupational therapy and physical therapy students.
Her professional interests include interprofessional curriculum development, clinical education, experiential learning, and the sustainability of collaborative practice competencies in health professions training.
