Benefits Available to Retirees

1.Ìý Supplemental Health and Dental Insurance PlansÌýÌý

Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓÆµ academic retirees may continue to be members of the Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓÆµ Supplemental Health Plan and Dental Insurance Plan. The major change in the Health Plan after 65 years if age is in access to the drug plan. The major change in the Dental Plan is in the funding model. Terms and conditions of the plans for those already retired, those recently retired, or those contemplating retirement, may differ.

7.Ìý Other activities

For a modest annual fee, retirees may continue to use the Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓÆµ Faculty Club and through reciprocal arrangements with other universities, other Faculty Clubs in Canada and the USA. Retirees are encouraged to continue their membership in MAUT, again for a modest fee, and take part in the activities organized by the retirees' committee, as well as in the regular meetings of MAUT.

Members of MAUTÌýautomatically receive the CAUTÌýE-Bulletin free of charge.Ìý Members may also subscribe to variousÌýfreeÌýon-line publicationsÌýoffered by .

Other Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓÆµ activities which retirees are welcome to engage in include the James Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓÆµ Society and a large number of concerts, theatre performances and lectures organized by the University.Ìý Those retirees who spent more than 25 years at Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓÆµ also are invited to the annual Quarter Century Club celebration. Although not specifically designed for seniors, the Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓÆµ has many courses, workshops and programs, some for a modest fee, that retirees have found beneficial and enjoyable. 8.Ìý Professors Emeriti(ae)ÌýÌý

Those faculty members or librarians who retired after serving at least 5 years as full professor or librarian are given the honorific title of professor or librarian emeritus(a), and all retired academics who wish it are listed in the Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓÆµ electronic directory. Colleagues whose status has been changed from "Full Professor (Retired)" to "Professor Emeritus(a)", or from "Full Librarian (retired)" to "Librarian Emeritus", may make the appropriate change in their online staff directory listing by filling in the revisions form.
