Consultation Sessions

To guide its deliberations, the Committee is interested in hearing the views of members of the Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓÆµ community on the opportunities, challenges, issues, and priorities facing the next Dean over the next 5-10 years, and the qualifications, leadership skills, experience and attributes that the candidate should possess.

The Committee will be holding consultation sessions via Zoom with members of the University community on November 20, 2025. The following guiding questions will serve as a framework for the consultation sessions:

  1. In your view, what are the internal and external opportunities, challenges and priorities facing the Dean over the next 5-10 years, which are relevant to the search process?
  1. Do the priorities and position requirements, as described in the 2015 position profile, adequately define the role and responsibilities of the Dean in the coming 5-10 years? If not, what changes should be considered?
  1. In your view, what are the required and desirable qualities that candidates for the position of Dean should have when it comes to their:
    1. Values
    2. Leadership skills
    3. Qualifications and Experience
    4. Other characteristics

These questions are also available on the Committee’s website, along with information needed to register for a consultation sessions.

If you are unable to participate in the consultation session at the time set up for your group, you may attend the open consultation session or provide feedback to the Committee on the questions above in writing. Comments should be sent to the Committee by email at advisories [at] mcgill.ca. All comments will be treated in strict confidence by the Committee.
