Published: 23 May 2011

In the online world, few are aware that there's a fine line between teasing and criminal harassment. Fewer still know that lies or demeaning images posted on social media can become cyber-libel.

A new bilingual website - - aimed at kids, teens, parents and teachers says it hopes to "clear the blurred lines between cyber-bullying and socially responsible digital citizenship." The resource-rich site was conceptualized by a Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ research team, led by Prof. Shaheen Shariff,  an Associate Professor at Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ and an Affiliate Scholar at Stanford University's Centre for Internet and Society.

Shariff is an international expert on cyberbullying. Her latest book on the subject is Cyber-Bullying: Issues and Solutions for the School, the Classroom and the Home.
