Daniel Fortin-Guichard, Assistant Professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education, was invited to the Temps d'Arrêt podcast hosted by (François Rodrigue), an Assistant Professor at the Université du Québec en Outaouais, discussing cognitive biases that selectors may have when identifying and selecting athletes (e.g., at the NHL draft).

Olympic medalist in swimming,Savannah King is a graduate of the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education who went on to work as a Project Administrator within the department before becoming Associate Coach and Social Media Coordinator for the ĢƵ Varsity Swim Team. Selected as a ĢƵ24 ambassador for the University's Day of Giving, she is lending her support to ĢƵ in advocating for student-athletes during the 24-hour fundraiser.

Kinesiology and Physical Education Chair and leading sports psychology researcher, Dr. Gordon Bloom, paired up with KPE alum and five-time National Championship coach, , to co-author Dare to Win: The Blueprint to Building and Leading High Performance and Championship Teams. The Faculty of Education's Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education (KPE) has unveiled its new Indigenous space, named the Onkwanaktí:io lab, which aims to provide a supportive environment for Indigenous students and encourage Indigenous-focused research.
The space features a mural highlighting Indigenous athletes and a hand-carved wooden table depicting traditional Indigenous sports, underscoring the connection between culture, movement, and community.

As a new initiative of the Faculty of Education, Dean Vivek Venkatesh recently launched the Dean's Speaker Series. This biannual series is expected to host prominent guest speakers on relatable topics that span the Faculty's departments and hosted by the Dean as a free event for academics, students, staff, and invited guests.

The Clinical Exercise and Respiratory Physiology Laboratory (CERPL) and the Movement Technologies and Innovation (MOTION) Laboratory, in collaboration with , are seeking female volunteers for a research study investigating whether breast reduction surgery impacts breathing and biomechanics during exercise.
The study is looking for 16 healthy women who are planning to undergo breast reduction surgery and are able to walk, jog, and run on a treadmill.

The Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education'sDr. Celena Scheede-Bergdahl was interviewed by CBC for an article, "Prehab' before surgery speeds up patient recovery, review suggests" regarding how pre-op exercise, nutritional changes, and psychological support could reduce complications.Dr. Scheede-Bergdahl commented she sees high rates of participation in prehab at Montreal General Hospital's surgery program."We're capturing them in a teaching moment," Scheede-Bergdahl said.

Researchers at ĢƵ’s Clinical Exercise and Respiratory Physiology Laboratory (CERPL) are seeking participants for a study examining how breathing mechanical loads affect inspiratory muscle activation and breathlessness during exercise.
The study involves three lab visits, including lung function tests, cycling exercise, and safe, controlled breathing challenges, all in downtown Montreal.
